Controlling data sources in Guest Engagement

Updated over a week ago

On this page, you can control which websites you want as sources for the review data that Guest Engagement collects for you.

  1. These are the sources that are currently set up in your system

  2. Edit or delete an existing source

  3. Add a new source. See more instructions below.

  4. Use your Google Business account to approve Guest Engagement to access all your Google review data. More information below.

  5. Use your property's Facebook account to approve Guest Engagement to access your Facebook review data. More information below.

Adding a new source

If you want to add a source that is missing from your current sources, click the Add source button. A dialogue box appears:

Once you choose the source type, you will then need to add the Identifier. What needs to be done here depends on the source, but the general idea is always the same.

First, go to your property's listing on that source web page.

Next, check what identifier text is needed by referring to the helper text beneath the Identifier field in Guest Engagement. In the example above, you can see that a portion of the URL is required (highlighted in bold).

Locate that text in the URL:

Copy and paste that text into the Identifier field, and click Create.

Please note that review data collection happens once per day, so check back tomorrow to see reviews from the new source that you add.

Giving Guest Engagement permission to your full Google review data

By default, your Guest Engagement system will have been set up with a source called Google Top Reviews. As that name implies, you will not be seeing all of your Google reviews in Guest Engagement.

In order to do so, click the Google Business button.

A new window will open, and, provided you are logged in to your Google Business account, all you will need to do is Approve Guest Engagement having access to your data.

After you do this, please note that review data collection happens once per day, so check back tomorrow and you will then be seeing all your Google reviews.

Giving Guest Engagement permission to your Facebook review data

If you want Guest Engagement to monitor your Facebook review data, click the Facebook button.

A new window will open, and, provided you are logged in to your property's Facebook page account, all you will need to do is Approve Guest Engagement having access to your data.

After you do this, please note that review data collection happens once per day, so check back tomorrow and you will then be seeing all your Facebook reviews.
