Create segments to target different groups of subscribers

After tagging subscribers, you can create segments and send different emails to different kinds of subscribers

Updated over a week ago

As mentioned earlier, if you always send your marketing emails to your entire list of subscribers, you don't need to create segments.

But if you do send different emails to different subscribers, creating segments is how to target those various people.

Reminder: You can import subscribers from another system, including any existing tags you have applied to them 👍

Now let's create a segment. Go to Campaigns > Subscribers and then click on the Segments tab:

Click the Add segment button; a new dialog will appear:

  1. Give your segment a name

  2. Include: Select the tags you want to have a subscriber qualify to be included in this segment. Note that you can choose Any or All in the dropdown box - so whether the subscriber must have all the tags you specify, or at least one of the tags that you specify

  3. Exclude: Here you can specify any tags that would means a subscriber would NOT qualify to be part of this segment, even if they matched your "include" settings. The same Any and All options are here and work in the same way is the Include ones.

Here is our example for our 2021 summer leisure guests:

Note we chose that a guest must have all the tags we specified in order to be included in this segment.

Click the Save changes button when you're done.

Your segment will be available to select when you get to the segment step when creating your campaign:
