Improve the guest experience of your Guest directory by ensuring that a phone number in an Info card can be clicked —or rather, tapped — to make it easier for guests to make calls from a mobile device.

About clickable phone numbers

A phone number in an Info card, which displays in your Guest directory, can be set up so that a guest can easily make a phone call by clicking (or tapping) the linked phone number, rather than needing to type in the phone number manually on the device they are using.

Phone numbers can be added to Info cards about your property, or Info cards about nearby places of interest such as restaurants or pharmacies. For example, if you have an Info card about recommended restaurants, you should include each restaurant’s phone number, so that a guest can easily click (or tap) to call their chosen restaurant to make a reservation.

Add a clickable phone number to an Info card

Follow these steps to add a phone number to an Info card so that guests can click (or tap) to call:

  1. Go to Directory > Info cards to create a new Info card or edit an existing one.

  2. When in the Edit info card page, in the Description, enter the text that you want to appear as a link (for example, enter text ‘Tap here to call the restaurant’).

  3. Highlight the text, then click the link button in the toolbar.

  4. Enter the phone number, and include ‘tel:’ before the phone number, in order to tell the browser that this link is actually a phone number and not the address of a website (e.g. enter ‘tel:number’).

  5. Click the tick (save) button once you're done.

Done! The text is now a link, and when clicked (or tapped), the guest will be prompted to make a call to that phone number. Simple, but super helpful!
